YOU can use your lesson time to learn things you want to learn! After all, it's your lesson time! If you like country music, we can work with country. If you like Modern Rock we can work with that. Blues, funk, acoustic etc etc. You also get to take home a play along practice cd with Jam along tracks, special handouts! So you can work at your own pace at home. Is there a song you've been trying to learn but can't seem to get the rhythm or chords to go together? Bring it on in. Maybe you have a young child and you want to see if guitar lessons is for them? Try out a block of lessons and see how it goes. Have some technical questions about buying a new guitar or maybe about the value of restoring or restringing an old guitar? Bring it in. Need assistance with things Including help with picking out a guitar, assistance with any special learning issues? Want to know where I think the best deals for new and used guitars are locally? Feel free to ask away. I can help you define or solidify your musical goals, even if its just to play a few songs on your front steps!

HOW DO LESSONS WORK?
Students take 1 lesson a week.
Lessons are offered in 30,45 and 60 minute sessions.

There is never any registration fee associated with starting these lessons.

Who takes lessons?
Everybody! Students range from all ages. ( Yes, yours too! )

Think this little guy enjoys Guitar? I've worked with high school students, adults, children and teens for several years as a teacher. I've worked in after school programs, tutoring and mentoring in various programs, including the Boston Arts High school, YWCA, and YMCA programs all across New England. Is music just for the young? NOOOOOO WAY! And if you've ever wondered about that? Come and try it out in a patient and relaxed atmosphere. Your only too old if you think you are. And if you think you are...come talk to me and I will give you proof and an ear full of what you need to hear! Many people use their guitar time as a special way to relax a bit. They dont expect to be Eddie Van Halen. Sometimes find they enjoy the new challenge for themselves and derive such a great amount of pleasure from learning something new! Other students walk through the door with the goal to play music for a living. Most people fall someplace in between. It has become obvious to me over the years that, Music really is for everybody.

My son has been taking lessons with Andrew for about four months. I am so pleased with the confidence that has been instilled in him due to Andrew's patient and kind teaching methods. my son has learned more than just the guitar, he's become a more focused and confident young man,

Since Andrew is a Berklee College of Music graduate, the student gets much more than guitar lessons -- he/she gets a broader musical education. Andrew is especially skilled at tailoring the lesson to the individual and making learning fun. Students learn to play songs that they like and are encouraged to branch out musically, based on their interests and abilities. In additon to making amazing progress on the electric guitar, my 11-year-old son also is learning to sing, understand rhythm, read music, play the piano, etc. I highly recommend Andrew as a teacher for children and adults alike. I came to Andrew Boyd with a fundamental knowledge of guitar chords and scales, but seeking to expand my general skill level including soloing techniques. Andrew has shown me a new approach to chord theory and soloing (applying his Berklee background) using scale note numbering and knowledge of intervals. He has also introduced me to the different modes and the scales of these modes which has expanded my ability to play across the fret board. In the 6 months I have taken lessons from Andrew, I believe I have grown significantly in my ability level as well as in my confidence. I look forward to further learning under Andrew as I continue my life-long desire to play the guitar well. My 11 year-old son Connor has been taking lessons from Andrew for well over a year. This is the first time he has stuck with something long-term. Andrew has a very relaxed, yet encouraging style which makes Connor look forward to his lessons and want to continue to improve. I’m thrilled to see him gain confidence in his playing abilities and learn what I hope will be a lifelong skill. I’m grateful to Andrew for coaching out the best in Connor.

Andy's the best. I love how he interacts with my daughter. He always makes her feel very comfortable. She looks forward to lessons every week, doesn't always want to practice but loves the lessons. I think Andy is a great guitar teacher. Each week my daughter learns something new and feels great about herself and can't wait to learn more.

Dear Andy, I love to come to you on Tuesdays. You are very very nice. I get excited when it is Tuesday because you are a great teacher. I like how I get to learn a new song every week. If my uncle had not told me about you I would not be taking lessons right now.

You teach cool things too. It is very fun to come to your house every week. My mom likes you too. I like to learn all the stuff you teach, it is not boring. And the cool songs you teach me, I love it! And the crazy songs that I choose, My dad tells me them!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I feel Andrew is an amazing music instructor. He really connects with my daughter and works and communicates with her in ways that she relates and comprehends.

Her self esteem has gotten much better since she has learned to play guitar. Not only that but she now has a creative/emotional outlet.

Thank you Andrew, keep up the good work. Music has undescribable healing properties and you have definitely been blessed with rare talent. Jessica (Students Mom)
